What I build

How I work

I sit with whoever does the task now and watch them do it. Then I build the smallest thing that removes it. If the honest answer is that a spreadsheet solves your problem, I’ll say so.

  • BTHR Studio

    for Beyond The High Road

    The catch with a custom-built site is that the owner usually can’t change it without calling the developer. So alongside the Beyond The High Road site, I built its owner a private editor. She writes a post on a page that looks like her own site, adds the episode’s YouTube link and transcript, and presses Publish. A few minutes later it’s live. From the same screen she can change where the site’s booking and login buttons go.

    It went live in early September. Two weeks later she published five new episodes through it in one afternoon.

  • MECCA Academy

    for May Eye Care Center · Hanover, PA

    Staff training for a cataract and LASIK practice. Everyone signs in with their own account, the modules are grouped by area of the practice, and the practice’s leaders manage it from a dashboard of their own.

    In the room, each module runs as a slide deck with a live quiz built into it. Staff answer on their own phones, with no app to install, and the room’s answers appear on the slide, followed by the right one and why. At the end, the room sees how far its scores moved since the start.
